Doesn’t get any better than Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s impressions, from Bond to Brando, with Michael Caine and Sean Connery in between.

These excerpts were taken out from the first 2 movies: The Trip, a feature film edited from the original 2010 sitcom and The Trip to Italy, the first in a series of three abroad.

Robot Chicken has done by far, in our opinion, the best Star Wars spoofs yet.

We know that the statement above is a bold one, especially since everyone and their dog has already done some sort of parody of Star Wars at some point in time.

What’s absolutely remarkable about a great deal of them is that they are lovingly made by their creators (many Star Wars fans themselves).

So it’s not about not tearing it down but to give a funny twist to a beloved franchise (though, in most cases, the focus is naturally on the original trilogy and not so much in the more recent movies).

When the face is a prune, then action goes BOOM!

Not the hero we need but the hero we deserve.

In case you have no idea who Prune Face is, here’s a little backstory, according to starwars.fandom.com:

In 1984, after this action figure came out, it was labeled “Prune Face,” the only name the character had until Pablo Hidalgo dubbed him Orrimaarko in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies a Star Wars Legends sourcebook by West End Games released in 1995.

Orrimaarko first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

Coronavirus: Conspiracy Theories: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

Hoaxes and conspiracy theories have been plentiful since the pandemic began in March, with some online groups and websites claiming there is no virus or that 5G networks somehow cause the illness.

It never ceases to amaze us how people are happy to believe any nonsense they hear, especially online. Even though, as John Oliver pointed out, conspiracy theories have long been around and their appeal is undeniable.

Still, one would expect people would fall for elaborate theories, with plenty of evidence to back it up. Instead it’s always the most idiotic concepts possible.

George Carlin – Saving the Planet

Dadniel

In times of the Covid19 pandemic, that is ravaging every country throughout the world, nobody better than George Carlin to put things into perspective.

This clip is taken from his “Jammin’ In New York” (1992) special, as he finishes his performance with a ruthless blow to self-centered environmentalists by attacking their true motivations to save the planet while (and I don’t think most people realize this) agreeing with their main premise in a grim, ferociously honest way. “The planet is fine. The people are fucked.”

It’s not so much about saving the planet that most are concerned about but saving themselves instead.

Kidding 2018 — Shaina’s Transformation One-Shot Scene | Behind The Scenes

Unbelievable collaborative experience from all cast & crew in this one-shot scene.

Just some backstory, this scene was filmed for  Kidding (an American comedy-drama television series created by Dave Holstein that premiered on September 9, 2018, on Showtime).  The series stars Jim Carrey, Frank Langella, Judy Greer, Cole Allen, Justin Kirk, Juliet Morris, and Catherine Keener.

In this sequence (Shaina’s transformation) viewers see Shaina’s (Riki Lindholme) world evolve as she renovates her apartment, starts exercising, invites friends over and celebrates her new life.

While this is happening, behind the scenes, the Kidding crew is physically transforming the set multiple times in real time.

In this video, we can check out a side-by-side comparison to how the scene looked on camera vs behind the camera as Lindhome and the show’s crew managed to pull it off.

The crew celebrating at the end just shows how difficult it was.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah

After Donald Trump’s first campaign rally since the Covid19 pandemic took hold in the USA,  it’s definitely worth revisiting this video.

What can be funnier (and scarier at the same time) than Jordan Klepper’s compilation of greatest hits at a Trump rally? Not much we reckon.

We can’t fail to notice an alarming similarity between this video and a Coronavirus Lockdown Protest we’ve posted recently though.

Anyway, with the new election coming up in the U.S we guess it’s safe to assume there will be plenty more of these sorts of videos shortly, to keep us all entertained  (or not, in case social distancing rules are still in effect until then).

8:46 – Dave Chappelle

Netflix Is A Joke

Jun 12, 2020 / 27.20 min

Need help understanding the protests going on in the USA?

Dave Chappelle, in an incredible twist of fate doesn’t even have to tell jokes. He as become one of the most powerful voices in America, by just voicing his opinion in a funny but mostly serious and undeniably political way.

This is not your average comedy set (not only because of the unusual setting) and Chappelle starts off by acknowledging it as he asks the audience “Is this weird?”

The jokes are scarce and he mostly focus instead, on listing other accounts of police brutality (and police culture, that prevents/doesn’t reward a officer from telling on another officer for their wrongdoing) towards black man and women.

Chappelle storytelling abilities allow him to wrap all this behind his personal experience, in what is a very compelling performance.

John Cleese vs Extremism

As in John Cleese own words recently, it’s “Hard to tell if I recorded this 30 years or 10 minutes ago…”.

In the last decade or so, as social media have grown in importance and taken a huge place in our lives, we’ve been pushed to believe that extremely polarized views are a recent phenomenon, though nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, this has always been the case, social media has just facilitated and amplified how fast those polarized opinions and feelings can be shared.
