Steaming river of black sludge floods through Arizona

LiveScience

Jul 22, 2020 / 1.49 min

What was 2020 missing if not a steaming river of black sludge.

The video originally posted on Twitter by Pima County officials, shows the fast flowing steaming river of sticks and debris advancing through a dry river bed.

As it seems, as the climate changes have made wildfires more common, the risk of flash floods becomes more likely.

This happens because, after wildfire the soil is no longer able to absorb as much water as it did before and just even minor rains can trigger this sort of event.
